CORE Optimize · Safe changes to live software
Change a live system without breaking what already works.
New features, retired features, changed rules, fixed bugs. Before CORE touches anything, you see every file it will change. After, you see the regression tests that prove nothing else moved.
config/auth/saml.config.tsapi/middleware/session.tsdocs/rollback/okta-cutover.mdSeven kinds of change, one guarantee
Nothing changes silently. Nothing that worked quietly stops.
Optimize handles the changes that sit in a backlog because nobody wants to be the one who broke something. Pick a change to see how CORE handles it.
Self-heal. If a regression test fails, CORE traces the cause, fixes it and re-runs the suite before the change reaches your review.
What you get
- An impact plan before any code is written
- A pull request with code, tests and a plain summary
- Proof that existing behavior still passes
Add a feature
New capability, without new surprises.
Describe the feature in plain language. CORE maps it to the exact files, schema changes and screens involved, shows you the plan, and only builds once your team approves.
What CORE does
- Maps the request to files, schema and screens
- Shows every function and downstream caller affected
- Writes the feature in your existing patterns
- Adds tests for the new behavior
- Re-runs the full regression suite
Self-heal. Broken references found during the regression run are repaired automatically and re-tested.
What you get
- A dependency map of what relied on the feature
- A migration script for active records
- A clean removal with no dead code left behind
Retire a feature
Remove what you no longer need, cleanly.
Retiring a feature is riskier than adding one, because something always depends on it. CORE finds every function, page, report and API contract that relies on the feature before anything is removed.
What CORE does
- Finds every dependent function, page, report and API
- Plans data migration for records still in use
- Removes code, routes and menu entries together
- Updates reports and integrations that referenced it
- Re-runs everything that touched the old feature
Self-heal. If any path still follows the old rule, the tests catch it and CORE corrects it before review.
What you get
- A list of every location the rule lives
- Tests for old and new behavior side by side
- A summary your business owner can sign off
Change a business rule
Change the rule everywhere it lives.
Business rules are rarely in one place. CORE finds every spot where the rule is applied, in code, scheduled jobs and reports, and changes them together so nothing is left following the old logic.
What CORE does
- Finds every place the rule is applied
- Updates code, jobs and reports consistently
- Adds tests for the new behavior
- Keeps tests proving unaffected cases still behave the same
- Flags data that was created under the old rule
Self-heal. Gaps found by a CORE compliance review can flow straight into Optimize as ready-made change requests.
What you get
- The control, live and tested
- Evidence ready for your auditor
- A higher readiness score on the next review
Meet a new control
Close an audit finding with evidence attached.
When an auditor or a compliance review asks for a new control, CORE adds it to the live system and produces the evidence that it works.
What CORE does
- Adds the control in code, database or infrastructure
- Updates audit schemas and retention settings
- Generates evidence of coverage for the auditor
- Tests that the control cannot be bypassed
- Links back to the compliance finding it closes
Self-heal. Session and token issues found in testing are fixed and re-tested before you approve the cut-over.
What you get
- An impact plan across every touchpoint
- A tested change with a rollback plan
- A cut-over checklist
Switch an integration
Swap a provider without breaking the journeys around it.
Moving sign-in, payments or messaging to a new provider touches more than the connector. CORE finds every touchpoint, updates them together and prepares a rollback plan before cut-over.
What CORE does
- Finds every place the old provider is used
- Updates configuration, code and screens
- Tests sign-in, sessions and edge cases end to end
- Prepares a rollback plan
- Plans the cut-over with your team
Self-heal. Layouts that break with longer text are adjusted automatically and re-checked on every screen size.
What you get
- Translation files ready for your translators
- A working language switch
- Screenshots of every screen in the new language
Add a language
Reach new users without rewriting the app.
CORE finds every user-facing string, moves them into translation files, adds a language switch and checks that layouts still hold with longer words.
What CORE does
- Finds every user-facing string, including emails and PDFs
- Extracts strings into translation files
- Adds a language switch and remembers the choice
- Formats dates, numbers and currency per language
- Checks layouts for text that no longer fits
Self-heal. Bugs found by Evaluate can be fixed this way automatically, with your team approving each change.
What you get
- A root-cause explanation in plain language
- A pull request with the fix and its tests
- Regression proof across everything touched
Fix a bug
Fix the cause, not the symptom. Prove nothing else broke.
Report the bug however you already do. CORE reproduces it, traces it back to the real defect, which is often in a different file from the symptom, and shows you the fix before writing it.
What CORE does
- Accepts a ticket, a message or a screenshot
- Reproduces the bug with read-only access
- Traces the symptom to its root cause
- Shows the fix and every file it touches
- Adds tests that prove the bug is gone
File names and numbers are examples.
Bug fixing
Fix the bug. Prove nothing else broke.
Everyone wants faster fixes. What everyone actually fears is the fix on Tuesday that breaks production on Friday. This workflow is built around that fear.
Report it however you already do
A Jira ticket, a Slack message, a spreadsheet row, a screenshot with an arrow. No formal reproduction case needed.
Give read-only access
The repository and a database connection or snapshot. Nothing is modified while CORE investigates.
CORE traces symptom to root cause
The bug is reproduced and followed back to the real defect, which is often in a different file from where the symptom appears.
You approve the impact plan
The root cause, the proposed fix, every file and function that will change, downstream dependencies, and what needs regression testing. Nothing is written until you approve.
Your approvalThe fix arrives with its proof
The fix, plus smoke and regression tests covering everything CORE touched. They show the bug is gone and that what worked before still works.
Deploy through your own pipeline
A pull request with the fix, the tests and a plain summary. Your CI/CD runs it alongside your existing suite.
The same workflow for any change
Three things that happen every time.
An impact preview
Every file, function and downstream dependency a change will affect, shown before any code is generated.
Your approval
Your team approves the plan, asks for changes or rejects it. This is how CORE works, not a setting.
Regression proof
Every change ships with tests for the change itself and everything it touches downstream.
Self-heal: Optimize fixes what Evaluate finds.
Findings from testing and compliance reviews flow straight into Optimize as proposed changes. Each comes with its impact plan, and the full regression suite re-runs after the fix.
- Failing tests diagnosed and repaired
- Vulnerabilities patched with proof
- Compliance gaps closed in code
- Full suite re-run after every fix
Questions about Optimize
What does CORE Optimize do?
Optimize changes software that is already in production: adding, removing or modifying features, changing integrations and fixing bugs. Every change starts with an impact plan listing each file it will touch, waits for your approval, and ships with regression tests.
How does CORE prove a change did not break anything?
It generates smoke and regression tests for the change and for every function and dependency it touches, runs them alongside your existing suite, and reports the result. The change proceeds only if everything passes.
Does CORE change our code directly?
No. Investigation is read-only. The approved change arrives as a pull request with its tests and a summary, and goes through your own review and CI/CD.
When is Optimize the wrong choice?
When the architecture itself is the problem, or the system needs to move to a new technology stack. That is Re-engineer. When the system does not exist yet, that is Create.
Bring the change everyone is afraid to make.
Or the bug nobody wants to touch. We will show you the impact plan before anything happens.
